Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026

This document is provided for transparency and is not legal advice. Have counsel review it before relying on it for your jurisdiction.

These Terms govern your use of the Lucid Train software (the "Software"), an open-source command-line coding agent provided by LUCIDTRAIN PRIVATE LIMITED ("we", "us"). By installing or using the Software you agree to these Terms.

1. License

The Software is provided by LUCIDTRAIN PRIVATE LIMITED and licensed to you for personal and commercial use, subject to these Terms. These Terms cover your use of the distributed binaries and this website.

2. The Software runs on your machine

Lucid Train executes locally in your terminal. It can read, create, modify, and delete files and run shell commands in the directories you point it at. You are responsible for the commands it runs and the changes it makes. Use version control, review diffs, and choose an appropriate approval mode (plan, auto, or full-auto). The Software refuses a hard-coded set of catastrophic commands, but this is not a guarantee of safety.

3. Third-party model providers

When you use a cloud model, your prompts and code context are sent directly from your machine to the model provider you select (for example OpenRouter and the underlying model vendor, or a self-hosted endpoint you configure). Your use of those providers is subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, those services. When you use local models via Ollama, no data leaves your machine.

4. API keys and credentials

Any API keys you provide are stored locally on your machine (in your Lucid Train config directory) and are transmitted only to the provider they authenticate. We do not collect or receive your keys.

5. No warranty

The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AI-generated code and actions may be incorrect, insecure, or destructive. Review all output before relying on it.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LUCIDTRAIN PRIVATE LIMITED shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or systems, arising from your use of the Software.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
